RICHARD BARRY
Manlius, New York

 Richard is the Owner and General Manager of Frank Tartaglia, Inc., a railroad construction and maintenance company and railroad equipment supplier in East Syracuse, New York. He has been in railroad construction for 30 years.

 R. CLIFFORD BLACK IV
Washington, D.C.

 Cliff is Director, Media Relations for Amtrak in Washington, D.C. He has held various positions in Amtrak’s Corporate Communications Department for 23 years.

 DANIEL BOGDAN
New Hartford, New York

 Dan is an Electrical Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the electric power and railway signal, locomotive and passenger car industry. He served as a director of the ARPS for over 10 years, and is also a former ARPS President, Vice President and Treasurer.

 MICHAEL BOSAK
New York Mills, New York

 Mike is a Registered Architect and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1997. He has been an architect for the Federal government for the past 15 years and is the Chairman of the ARPS Buildings and Grounds Ad Hoc Committee. Mike is the Immediate Past President of the Landmarks Society of Greater Utica, having served as President of that not-for-profit organization for four years.

 THOMAS CARVER, JR.
Stonington, Connecticut

 Tom was most recently the acting General Manager of the ASR. He is a railroad transportation specialist, working for the New England Central Railroad, a former Rail Magazine editor and an award-winning professional photographer. Tom is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound and currently serves as ARPS Treasurer.

 DANIEL CHRISTMAS
Tupper Lake, New York

 Dan is founder and President of Christmas & Associates, a land development company based in Tupper Lake, New York. Dan has lived in the Adirondack Park for almost 30 years, having been a logger, forester, great camp caretaker and real estate broker. He is a graduate of Paul Smiths College.

 DOUGLAS ELLISON
Warren, Pennsylvania

 Doug has had over 17 years of professional railroad managerial experience since earning a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY College of Technology at Utica, New York in Business Public Management / Finance. For the past several years, he has been Vice President, Strategic Projects at Stone Consulting & Design in Warren, Pennsylvania. He served as the former ARPS Executive Director from 1994 to 1999 and General Manager of the Adirondack Scenic (Centennial) Railroad from 1993 to 1999.

 EUGENE FALVO
Utica, New York

 Gene is President of Falvo Manufacturing Company in Utica, New York, a wood-products manufacturing company. He is a graduate of Hamilton College, Clinton, New York, and currently serves as President of the ARPS and is on the Board of the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA).

 DR. EDWARD GAFFNEY
Whitesboro, New York

 Ed is a retired doctor who practiced medicine in Utica, New York for 20 years, following a stint in the United States Army Medical Corps as a Pulmonary Specialist. After graduating from Hamilton College and SUNY College of Medicine – Syracuse, “Doc” spent 5 years in post-graduate training in internal medicine and pulmonary disease. He is a licensed train engineer.

 PETER GORES
Lowville, New York

 Pete is the General Manager of the MA&N Railroad in Upstate New York and the former General Manager of the ASR. He was formerly a trainmaster for the Rochester Southern Railroad and the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad, and was a Town of Webster police officer for 12 years. Pete is a graduate of Monroe County Community College.

 EDMUND KENNEDY
South Salem, New York

 Ed is IBM Vice President, e-Business Solutions. As a senior executive with the IBM Corporation, he is responsible for worldwide business transformation, process re-engineering and complex solutions design and delivery. Ed’s prior responsibilities included leadership positions in Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Management. Ed graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a BS in Industrial Engineering.

 DAVID LINK
Blossvale, New York

 David is President of Bluebar Oil Company, a petroleum distributor, and Oswego Midland, Inc., a rail and marine transportation company. He holds several USCG Marine Officer licenses, including “Master of Freight and Towing Vessels Upon the Oceans”, “Radar Observer” and “First Class Pilot Upon the Mississippi River”. David is a graduate of the SUNY Maritime Academy. He is a licensed railroad engineer, former ARPS President and current Board Secretary.

 JOEL PLUMLEY
Baldwinsville, New York

 Joel is founder and President of Plumley Engineering, P.C., a civil and environmental engineering firm. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, and is a licensed professional engineer in the states of New York, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He currently serves as one of the two ARPS Vice Presidents.

 WALTER RICH
Cooperstown, New York

 Walter is Chairman, President and CEO of the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway. He serves on the Board of Directors of Energy East Corporation, New York Business Development Corporation, Security Mutual Life Insurance Company. He is a member of the New York Public Transportation Safety Board. He is also on the board of the Walter Rich Charitable Foundation, Cook Foundation, Catskill Area Hospice, Glimmerglass Opera, Barriger National Railroad Library and Foothills Performing Arts.

 JOHN RICKARD
Lake Placid, New York

 Johnny retired from a very successful automobile sales business, which he ran for 40 years. He currently works as a site contractor and a classic car and boat dealer. Johnny was employed by both the railroad and Railroad Express service in the 1950’s and 1960’s, and has been a Town of North Elba constable for 24 years. He currently serves as one of the two ARPS Vice Presidents.

 EUGENE ZELTMANN
Clifton Park, New York

 Gene is President and CEO of the New York Power Authority, the nation’s largest state-owned electric utility. He was named Deputy Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) in 1996. Gene is Chairman of the Board of the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI) and Vice Chair of two other electrical power organizations. He is active in many other professional, civic and educational organizations. Gene is a graduate of Beloit College and holds advanced degrees (MA and PhD) from Johns Hopkins University.
