Adirondack Scenic
Railroad
VOLUNTEERS
The heart of this railroad are the volunteers. They
come from all walks of life, from teacher
and electrician to retired air line pilots. The railroad has room for virtually
anyone from
any background. Please consider working as a volunteer for the railroad.
Left to right. Nat Longale
gives an Adirondack smile as he was promoted to conductor.
We find Joseph Schmitt assisting with Santa trains.
Conductor Jim Simmons and Engineer Stan Smaill pose for the friendly camera.
Volunteer of the Year for 2002 was Bill Kennifick of Old Forge. View below
is Bill with his 1939 Correct Craft - his pride and joy. Thank you
Bill!

More volunteers! Edee and Bob Partridge are always
working the Utica trains.
Bob King takes a few minutes from his engineer's duties to show his family
the locomotive in Thendara. Bob in the cab - smile!
Doing what he does best! Conductor John English brings
the train to a safe stop in a raging
snowstorm at Thendara. Second view is a waving Dave Link at the controls.
Irwin Kistner is doing a walking inspection of the train at Remsen and finally,
Engineer, Conductor and
Thendara Road Foreman Chuck Rowlee gives us an Adirondack smile as he greets
passengers.
Volunteers - they are what make this railroad so special!
