This issue I want to promote a very special event on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.  September 29th, we will celebrate our 15th Anniversary at the Thendara Station, where it all started in 1992.  Fall colors hit early in Old Forge and unlike the flatlands of New York, this area should be ripe with color.  Please consider joining us.

Saturday, September 29^th
Adirondack Scenic Railroad’s Fifteenth Anniversary Celebration
Join us for our celebration.  All-day display of railroad and Adirondack art and photography at the Thendara Depot.  1:30 pm celebration of our volunteers and ARPS members.  Special afternoon train.  Antique cars on display.  Sponsored by the Adirondack Railway Preservation Society [ARPS].

Saturday & Sunday, September 29^th & 30^th
Adirondack Scenic Fall Rail Photography Weekend

PLEASE see the next event at the Buffalo Central Terminal.  If you have not seen this station, please visit them at this open house.  While the station is normally off-limits due to preservation, we had the opportunity to view it in July.  They hosted a car show on the same day as the Cornell Railroad Historical Society ran an excursion to visit the old grain elevators along the Buffalo River.  The station needs millions of dollars worth of work but walking through it simply amazed me.  I only wish I could have seen it in its heyday.  Visit them on September 8th & 9th!!

Sunday, November 4th - 
PENNSY E-units - Southern Tier Excursion sponsored by High Iron Travel.  Private car excursion from Philadelphia, back to Philadelphia.  Sunday portion is from Steamtown in Scranton through Binghamton and west to Olean, NY.  Much of this 4 day trip is over rare, freight-only trackage.  http://www.highirontravel.com/
