Robert Frascella

Robert (Bob) Frascella is an accomplished artist specializing in landscape, nautical and railroad art.  Making his home in Lexington, MA, Bob has participated in several judged competitions in New England and is a signature member of the Pastel Painters of Maine, a prestigious society of pastel artists.  In July of 2004, his painting "Old No. 8" was featured on the cover of The Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette.  The painting depicts the essence of Maine two-foot narrow gauge operations showing Bridgton and Harrison 2-4-4T No. 8 being readied for a mid-day run to Bridgeton Junction.

Prior to moving to Lexington, Bob had been a resident of the Southern Tier of New York State for 1985 to 1993.  He witnessed the final years of the Delaware & Hudson and spent much of his time photographing scenes along the Southern Tier Line.  His recent paintings have captured the long gone era of railroading along the Southern Tier.

Bob's preferred medium is soft pastel, though he has produced a few oil paintings.  He draws his inspiration from the artistry of Howard Fogg, the renowned railroad artist.  Howard's style and detail is what influences him most.  Bob is self-taught and has been painting a relatively short time, since 1998.

Bob's paintings are for sale.  Soon, signed and numbered prints will be available at a reasonable price.  He also accepts commissions.
